Ramblings of the trials and tribulations of my life in London as an American ex-pat :)

I live in London...

Well, after being a bit mad at myself Friday night for spending my very first night in London by myself, doing nothing, I was able to make up for it last night.

I'd actually messed up the plans I had with my net friend...I'd forgotten that I was supposed to call him to confirm and when I didn't, he assumed we weren't getting together. So, I sat here thinking I was in for another boring and rather pathetic evening when, at nearly the same time, a flat owner called and my net friend came online and said he could come into the city anyway...so, I went running out the door (literally) to meet the guy at the flat, with quick plans to meet my friend at the tube station afterwards.

Having finally reached the flat after getting lost a few times, I decided that the road it is on is *way* too busy for my tastes...and it's not very pedestrian friendly. The flat itself was gorgeous, but it wasn't the one for me.

So off I went, back to the tube station to meet my friend...ever the gentleman and very fun to be around, we had a great time :) He took me into Piccadilly Circus and London's Chinatown and after eating real Chinese food, we ate (more) Ben and Jerry's. But as we strolled through Piccadilly Circus, it suddenly hit me: I live here...and I love it :)

I've heard back from the agent for the tiny but gorgeous flat and hopefully it will be mine soon. In the meantime, I'm migrating to a still nice, but much cheaper hotel this afternoon.

And I have a mobile!
